Welcome to Wonderminds!

As of today, we are launching a monthly newsletter for our growing Wonderminds network, where we hope to keep you informed about what we’re up to, update you on any new opportunities we come across, and highlight some amazing things happening in the tech and innovation space here in LA.

To start off, we are very happy to say that our inaugural Study Tour this past summer concluded with flying colors.

Our two intrepid explorers Alessio Buccella and Diego Bonzagni from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia had the opportunity to trek all over Los Angeles and meet speakers from many different business segments and expertises.

We kicked the tour off with Preccelerator Program, led by Leonard Lanzi, followed by Netflix with Archana Kumar, a Senior Software Engineer and NYU professor.

Day two was for CALSTART with it’s CFO, Piero Stillitano, and Meta with research scientist Giuseppe M. Mazzeo, alongside a tour of the UC Irvine Campus.

On the third day we visited M Accelerator with it’s Director, Alessandro Marianantoni, toured UCLA, and then went on to visit AT&T with Marco Gottini a Product Leader, Tech and Cyber Security Expert.

Our fourth day’s visits began with ITA (The Italian Trade Agency) with Fabrizio Dessì, their lead Market Analyst for US Cleantech Initiatives, followed by NYU Los Angeles with Shivani Honwad, Esq., an NYU professor and attorney specializing in immigration and business law.

For our final day, we stopped by Valerio Architects to speak with its founder, Niccolo Valerio, and Evolution Photonics Inc., where we also had a chance to meet its founder, Mariano Troccoli. As our final stop of the day, we got the chance to get a tour of Caltech thanks to Marco Bernardi, an Assistant Professor of Applied Physics and Materials Science.

It was an incredibly fulfilling week, and our participants left home feeling it was “transformative” and that their experience “profoundly reshaped their perspective.”

We are so happy that our first session of our Study Tours was so incredibly successful, and we can’t wait to bring an even greater slate of speakers and company visits for 2025.
